IN SUMMARY: Magufuli has given a lower profile of the threat of COVID-19 in Tanzania and pooh-poohed at global panic instead allying his nationals to pray and steam.

Nairobi. Reports from Kenya indicate that the health of 61 year old President of Tanzania John Pombe Magufuli continues to deteriorate and he has been placed on life support machines.

It comes as talk in Kenya is rife that Magufuli has been sneaked out Nairobi to India for better specialized treatment.

Officials in Tanzania have not issued any statement on the health of Magufuli commonly known in Tazania as “The Bulldozer”.

“The President’s well-being is a matter of grave public concern. What’s it with Magufuli that we don’t deserve to know?, opposition leader Tundu Lissu said in a tweet late on Tuesday.

Magufuli has given a lower profile of the threat of COVID-19 in Tanzania and pooh-poohed at global panic instead allying his nationals to pray and steam.

“Vaccines are not good. If they were, then the white man would have brought vaccines for HIV/AIDS,” he said in his rather consistent dismissal of coronavirus testing kits, which he said had returned positive results on a goat and pawpaw fruit.
