Tanzanian president Samia Suluhu Hassan will tomorrow, Sunday April 11 arrive at Entebbe Airport at 9:30am for an official visit and will be welcomed by foreign affairs minister Sam Kutesa.

At the Airport, she will hold a meeting with her Embassy staff and other delegates before proceeding to State House for the main event of the signing of the East Africa Crude Oil Pipe Line (EACOP) tripartite project.

The signing gives hope that within four years, commercial production will commence. At least Shs. 45 trillion is anticipated to be spent before commencement. Shs 3.3 trillion will be used to develop 700 km roads in the oil districts, while Shs 2.9 trillion is being spent on the airport. The 1,440 km East African Oil pipeline will consume Shs.13 trillion and Shs 24trillion will develop E&p Total’s Tilenga Oil Project.

President Suluhu Hassan will receive a 21 Gun Salute and inspect a Guard of honour as H.E. Yoweri K. Museveni will be waiting for her at the Ceremonial Dias inside State House.

In the Credentials Room the presidents and their delegations will pose for photographs and later on hold a Tete-a-tete (meeting).AT 12:55pm, the presidents in the Conference Hall will sign the East Africa Crude Oil Pipe Line (EACOP) Tripartite Project.

The meeting will be attended by the Minister of

Energy and Mineral Development, the President CNOOC and the Chief Executive Officer of Total. The presidents will then issue a Joint Communique

Suluhu will depart at 2:45 pm.
