Katikkiro Charles Pater Mayiga’s security has been reportedly beefed up amid heightening tensions over the health of Kabaka Ronald Mutebi.

Sources  said on Thursday evening that at least four highly trained guards were added to an already sophisticated security detail as blame games escalated on why the Mengo administration failed to make a statement when rumors started to circulate last the Kabaka was sick.

Social media users specifically blamed Mr. Mayiga on why he maintained insistence that the Kabaka was well with the first time last saying that he was in Kenya to visit his friends including Kenyan president Uhuru Kenyatta. The latest time when questions arose on Kabaka’s health, Mr. Mayiga said that the Kabaka was in Kenya to discuss business with Buganda kingdom’s friends.

But when the Kabaka appeared on his birthday at Mengo palace on Tuesday, he was not well, a circumstance that raised criticism. On Wednesday, members of the royal family issued a statement that the King had been unwell but was on recovery.
