The daughter and driver of Gen. Katumba Wamala have been killed in an attempt to assassinate the former Works of minister Tuesday Morning.
Police has not yet confirmed the deaths but eye witnesses said they saw two bodies being taken away.
The daughter, Brenda Nantongo Katumba (pictured above) has just completed her studies in the United States. She was last seen in public two weeks ago when she accompanied her father for the swearing in ceremony of her father as army MP. The driver is yet to be named.
Katumba was travelling to Najjanankumbi for a funeral of his mother-in law. Ten bullets are said to have been pumped into Katumba’s vehicle.
A video taken at the scene shows Gen. Katumba wearing a blood stained vehicle.
Gen. Katumba’s shooting according to witnesses was same style as all other high profile murders involving Muslim clerics, former MP Abiriga and police commanders Felix Kaweesa and Mohammad Kirumira.
Katumba Wamala is one of the most senior generals of the UPDF but who has chosen to live an ordinary life.
The CDF Gen. Muhoozi is currently speaking to eye witnesses along Kisota road on a stretch that connects to Kisaasi.
Katumba’s car tyres have been deflated in the shooting. HE was taken to Malcom clinic before rushed to another hospital.
