KAMPALA–UGANDA/NEWSDAY: Three more suspects in the attempted assassination of Gen. Katumba Wamala have been shot dead July 2, only hours after the arrest of three others and killing of one of them.
The latest killing of the suspects in the wee hours of Friday July 2nd 2021 in Kanyogoga, Namuwongo in Makindye Division, Kampala district is yet another score for security operatives who are breaking up the cell of assassins within Kampala.
Security sources said that when the suspects were raided, they attempted to fire back at the operatives prompting a full blown shooting from officers.
Two SMG guns and a pistol were recovered from one of the rooms of the dead suspects.
On Thursday Deputy IGP Paul Lokech announced the killing of a suspect who killed Gen Katumba daughter Brenda Nantongo. He also showed photos of suspects who were arrested.
