KAMPALA-UGANDA/NEWSDAY: Police has said 120 arrested from Best Hotel in Busega on Monday face court action.

Many of them are young girls and are alleged to be prostitutes.

Kampala police deputy metropolitan spokesperson Luke Oweyesigire said on Tuesday the suspects were found flouting Covid-19 guidlines in an operation at Best Hotel bar .

“They are now detained at Katwe and Natete police stations. They will be arraigned in courts of law as soon as investigations are done,” Oweyesigire said.

Best Hotel is a known hub for Kampala’s prostitutes where stripdance (Ekimansulo) is openly done on a daily basis year after year. 

Some of the girls reportedly acussed police of interference yet government has failed to send them money promised by Prime minister Robinah Nabbanja.
