KAMPALA-UGANDA/NEWSDAY: Police has arrested forty youth in raids in Katwe area as the search continue for men who kidnapped and murdered a four year old baby on Tuesday.
Another child, eight years old was left slaughtered and is being nursed at an intensive care Unit in Mulago hospital.
The raid mid this week targeted two zones Nsuwa where one child kidnapped and Nawanku where the other was kidnapped. The two zones are separated by Queensway road.
On Wednesday, residents found the body of four-year-old Tracy Nakanwagi before another, only identified as Shakira Nansamba aged eight was located unconscious
Nansamba was cut twice in the neck and she was also brutally pierced thrice through the abdomen twice at the back.
Moments after finding Nansamba, the body of Nakanwagi was found ten meters from the home of her grandma, Josephine Namakula, where she is believed to have been kidnapped.
Nakanwagi’s neck was sliced twice and the stomach had several sword wounds. A medical report from Mulago hospital where the body was taken for postmortem is not out.
The raid at Katwe fetched at least forty youth but are being treated as idlers as screening to identify and inform who is who was underway.
“The hunt continues until we find those behind the murder of the juvenile. We call upon parents to take good care of their siblings,” Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson Luke Oweyesigire said yesterday.
