MUKONO-UGANDA/NEWSDAY: Police said Tuesday they had discovered two brand new machetes near the home of Mukono Municipality MP Betty Nambooze who earlier on alleged an attack on her life.
The machetes found in a sack in a garden near the home of Nambooze are being investigated as whether they are the weapons that would have been used to slay Nambooze but the puzzle remains why they had the assailants had left them behind.
On Tuesday Morning Nambooze posted to her Facebook page an explainer how an assailant attacked her home, entering into the bedroom and asked her to say her last prayers.
And later on, Nambooze’s post was followed by a video in which the MP was speaking between sobs on how she survived.
“I still do not know how I survived, I woke up to a man in the bedroom, saying that he had been sent to kill me, he told me to say my last prayer, and I still can not know how I survived,” aAmbooze said in a narration to reporters.
Deputy Police spokesperson Luke Oweyesigire told reporters the attacker at Nambooze’s home was a tall, dark-skinned man who wore a jacket, Oweyesigire said that police were analysing CCTV footages with to identifying the men including a bodaboda rider who swiftly took away the said assailant.
In a meeting with journalists Nambooze said ” I still do not know how I survived, I woke up to a man in the bedroom, saying that he had been sent to kill me, he told me to say my last prayer, and I still can not know how I survived. ”
