KAMPALA-UGANDA/Newsday: The Church of Uganda House of Bishops has elected the Rev. Canon John Wilson Nanda and Pons Ozelle as new Mbale and Nebbi diocese Bishops.

  • The new Nebbi bishop Rev Canon Pons Ozelle

Both are due to be consecrated in December with Nandaah at St. Andrew’s Cathedral, Mbale and Ozelle at Nebbi .

Nandaah succeeds retiring  Bishop Patrick Gidudu who took over in 2008. Rev Ozelle replaces Bishop Rt Rev Alphonse Wathokudi who died in January this year. He had been bishop of the diocese since 2004

Rev Ozelle was born on August 17, 1969. He attended Uringi Secondary School for his O’level and then joined Mvara Secondary School in 1991-1993 for A’Level.

Rev. Canon Nandaah was born on 30th January 1962. Nandah and Ozelle were elected on Wednesday at a House of Bishops meeting at the Martyrs Shrine, Namugongo.
