KAMPALA-UGANDA/NEWSDAY: Its the 3rd day of the 2nd last month of the year and the day really rained news like it showered in Kampala .

Uganda is a country that usually has a bogus story trending but which can’t be featured anywhere in the circles of the sane. First was a post on Facebook insinuating how the People of Kisoro were the Ugandans of the moment. Later on a video went around and indeed Kisoro had just broken the record for mundane acts witnessed in Uganda.

In the Finance world, Bank of Uganda today gave banking institutions under it’s supervision to extend loan repayment periods to the Education and Hospitality industry which have been hard hit by the COVID-19 Lockdowns.

Two former contestants for the Lubaga South seat ask court to reinstate a petition against the area MP Aloysius Mukasa. Samuel Lubega Mukaku and Siraje Kifampa Nsambu applied to the High court to review another former contestant Eugenia Nassolo’s withdrawal of the petition that challenged the election results that made Mukasa MP.

NUP President Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu together with other Party officials today visited Kawempe North MP Muhammad Ssegirinya at Mulago where he is being treated while handcuffed on a hospital bed. The Katikkiro on his part said this was an opportunity to remind Govt more to fulfill it’s obligations towards Buganda kingdom as well as re-echo it’s Federo governance system demand.

Energy Minister Ruth Nankabirwa has advised Ugandans to tighten their belts as fuel prices skyrocket at the pump.
