Mounting pressure against Pr Ssenyonga over alleged conning of rural pastors

The complainants during a press conference in Makindye, Kampala on Monday alleged that they variously lodged complaints ranging from threatening violence, obtaining money by false pretense, extortion among others against Ssenyonga but nothing has been done.

KAMPALA-UGANDA/NEWSDAY: Various pastors from rural Uganda have petitioned the Inspector General of Police Okoth Ochola to investigate the conductor of his officers after reported stiffling of criminal cases brought against Pastor Jackson Ssenyonga.
Ssenyonga is the lead pastor of Christian Life Ministry at Makerere Kavule.
The pastor’s including Ayebale Moses, Jessica Babirye, Ndifuna James, Baho Steven, Rosette, Mwesigwa David, Kabuganda Amos, Akampulira.Moses, Sserushaago Amos and Robert Nsereko claimed they all opened different criminal cases against Ssenyonga but non has been forwarded to court.
The complainants during a press conference in Makindye, Kampala on Monday alleged that they variously lodged complaints ranging from threatening violence, obtaining money by false pretense, extortion among others against Ssenyonga but nothing has been done.
“Nothing is moving and we think Ssenyonga is influencing the police to drop investigations into his conduct,” one pastor Robert Nsereko said as he read a prepared statement.
“Ssenyonga is nolonger pastor but a con who uses our name to get the President attention and his actions  contributed to failure of NRM within Buganda, we were reluctant to mobilise for the President because the man we are complaining about is freely walking”Nsereko said.
In the case of Luwero, “We opened a case against Ssenyonga after he took money to get wealth creation seed Investments and conning pastors where he took money from pastors  money to allegedly facilitate the 2004 byebye Biwempe campaign”
They also accused Ssenyonga of telling the  president that all pastors are under him.
“But unfortunately all files against Ssenyonga are not moving… Ssenyonga openly threatened to harm me. I even recorded his phone call,”  Akampulira said.
Pr Serushago Amos of Rakai said in 2004 he led a mobilisation campaign for Ssenyonga to run the bye bye Biwempe campaign.
“These pastors of town, they use our names. They are just bafere,”  Serushago said.
Both Ssenyonga and the CID police spokesperson Charles Twiine could not be reached forma comment
