KAMPALA-UGANDA/NEWSDAY: In a bid to stump out covid19 pandemic Dr. Frank Bawela proprietor of Bawellz Innovation Medical Centre, has manufactured a covid19 treatment supportive drug, ReMDD cold brome Enzyme.
In the same vein, the Kawempe based doctor who is acclaimed for a thirty year span of experience has invented a bicycle that he is molding from plastic wastes.
Dr. Bawela is targeting the local Village Health Teams (VHTs) whom he says face hardships to access patients in the grassroots.
“We focus to donate our bicycles to the needy teams of VHTs who play a great role in our health systems yet it is hard for them to get into their target places of work,” Dr. Bawela said.
But that the project to produce the covid19 treatment drug he asked for government support to undertake massive production. Already, ReMDD cold brome Enzyme is available on the market.
A visit to his workshop revealed a sizeable workforce that were fabricating a bicycle
One VHT, Aidah Nansubuga who works within the vicinities of Kyabando in Kawempe division lauded the move to supply with her bicycles.
“These will enhance our movements. We had a difficult time during the lockdown, getting into the work places was so hard. With bicycles anticipated to be given to us, we will have some ease,” Nansubuga said.
Remdd Cold Brome Enzyme Research is also aimed at treating cancers.
Bawela said that he intends to sensitise the public about his innovations through the Bawelizify app.
Currently, at his centre, he is undertaking all sorts of medical checkups and general lines of treatment and post health management.
