KAMPALA-UGANDA/NEWSDAY: Boxing Feberation boss, Moses Muhangi’s dreams of keeping off competition to retain his office is now in balance after rival groups petitioned court to halt his planned swearing slated for February 5, 2022.
Four clubs A and B boxing club, Namirembe Boxing club, KBC Boxing club, Zana Boxing club and East Cost Boxing club have petitioned the High court in Kampala to put a permanent injunction restraining the president of the federation from organsing election under the new constitution.
In the civil suit case filed in Kampala high court civil division, No:022 ot 2022 and corresponding court summons emanating from the same, Muhangi has been directed to file in his defense not exceeding fifteen days.
“ You are required to file a written statement of defense with in fifteen days…should you fail…the plaintiff may proceed with the suit” reads the summons in part.
In their affidavits, the plaintiffs maintain that Muhangi defiled , altered or illegally changed the federation constitution to block the would be competitors in order to get another term a thing they cannot accept.
The suit has hit Muhangi below the belt whose lawyer and overseer of the contested shamble polls, Bruno Sserunkuuma of M/S G Bwanika &Co Advocates told a local press Bukedde that Muhangi was counting down to Febraury 5 to swear in after emerging non opposed.
Muhangi told media that he sole candidacy indicated that he had served well.
But according to reliable sources, their is a powerful sports promoter and business man whose imtention to contest for Federation presidency was blocked by Muhangi and is now behind those hitting hard at Muhangi.
