MPALA-UGANDA/NEWSDAY: Mityana Municipality MP, Francis Zaake has said he has forgiven Deputy Speaker Anita Among for making fun of what he went through after being tortured.

“I  forgive her. I forgive her not just for making fun of my plight, but also for the mob justice she is about to preside over against me,” Zaake said.

Zaake was appearing in the Parlimentary Rules Committee where he was dragged for allegedly making derogatory remarks about the deputy speaker on social media.

Zaake also told the committee that it should be the deputy speaker appearing before it  not him.

MP Zaake expelled over disparaging deputy speaker Among

March 11, 2022

In a plenary session, Among congratulated Zaake for winning a gold medal for the Ugandan Parliament in games which took place in Arusha, Tanzania ‘despite claiming he has always been tortured.

This didn’t go well with Zaake who allegedly went to Twitter and attacked Among.

The Parliament Rules committee Chairperson Abdu Katuntu said Monday that whereas he  empathizes with  Zaake for the torture he has undergone, his committee is now investigating a different issue of Zaake making disparaging comments about  the Deputy Speaker Anita Among.

“But we will be fair,” Katuntu said.
