KAMPALA-UGANDA/NEWSDAY; A new so-called ‘rebel’ outfit, the Pan Ugandan Liberation Initiative –PULI has claimed it carried out the daring attack on the convoy of the Principal judge Flavian Nzeija on April 23 at Mitala Maria.
‘’Fellow Compatriots in the struggle, on Saturday 23 April 2022 at around 21 Hours, at Mitala Maria, Kampala Masaka Road, in Mpigi District, gallant volunteers again attacked the occupation forces occupying our country,’ PULI said in a statement sent via whatsapp.
‘The attack was on a formation of three vehicles convoy, including the escort technical vehicle. Our target were the commando escorts leading the convoy donning black uniforms popularly known as Black Mambas,’ PULI’s statement reads.
It adds that their gallant volunteers concentrated their actions on the escorts.
‘Operation damage assessment indicates that some of the escorts in the vehicles died on the spot. The surviving escorts sustained heavy injuries. The so-called Black Mambas who survived the attack were seen in a state of total shock, mumbling on radio (“Afande tumepigwa, afande we are under attack…”.
The statement adds in allegations yet to be verified that their ‘volunteers’ helped themselves by collecting rifles and ammunition abandoned by the occupation forces in their desperation to escape the attack.
‘PULI- Monitoring and Analysis Unit noted that from Saturday night all through 24th Sunday, the dictators’ intelligence services combed the scene of the attack and some areas were cordoned off with police tapes, warning people not to come near the scene and “Don’t Cross Police” signs were put up.
The newest outfit, if confirmed it actually exists claims that their operating procedures are always to attack military or armed targets.
‘This time it was the same, and this is the reason the civilian bureaucrat travelling in a 4×4 (Mpa-Enkoni) with white and blue number plates was spared by separating them from the armed black Mambas and their vehicle was signaled to proceed on their journey,’ PULI said
ON April 23, a judiciary statement released by its spokesperson Kareman noted that “The Judiciary has learnt with dismay of a gun attack on the the Principal Judge
when unknown gunmen shot at his convoy,” Mr. Jamson Karemani, the Judiciary Public Relations Officer said in a statement, condemning the attack.
In an earlier statement dated April 20, they claimed that on 17th April 2022 their gallant indigenous sons of Uganda carried out their first ever attack against the occupation regime of NRM organisation and its collaborators.
‘The attack took place at Nkoni Village, Lwengo distict – Greater Masaka at around 21:00 hours. The operation targeted an Mpa-Enkoni which was carrying some senior security operatives and members of the Deep State. The damage caused to the vehicle was significant and the occupants of the Mpa-Enkoni survived with critical injuries,’
