ENTEBE-UGANDA/NEWSDAY: Three officials of Entebe Municipal council were Tuesday detained for questioning over their alleged involvement in financial irregularities of Shs.900 millions.
It is alleged that Nabirye Monica misappropriated Sh.40 millions education funds during Covid-19 lockdown while Ssekagiri Frank misappropriated Youth Livelihood/Women developement Program and Emyooga funds worth Shs. 850m.
They were detained following insufficient explanations on how they expended the money during a value for money tour by the head of State House Anti corruption unit (SH-ACU) Brig Henry Isoke and state minister for economic monitoring, Peter Ogwang.
The SH-ACU and Ogwang are aiming at cleaning up local government of corruption.
