KAMPALA-UGANDA/NEWSDAY; The State House anti corruption Unit-SH-ACU has arrested two officials of the Departed Asians Property Custodian Board -DAPCB for allegedly obtaining money by false presence, forgery and conspiracy to commit a felony.

The executive secretary, a 55-year old George William Bizibu and 35-year old John Byagagaire, an accountant are said to have defrauded various people of promising to allocate them land.

SH-ACU investigators in a June 8 charge sheet charged the duo under section 342 and 347 of the penal code Act .

Bizibu a resident of Ocheng zone in Nansana was charged with intention to defraud Ms Rebecca Mugisha of Shs. 5 million purporting to allocate to her plot 6/7 Kibira road whereas not.

In March 2022, President Museveni ordered DAPCB to fast track the recovery of various properties formerly under the management of the board but believed to have been fraudulently taken over or sold off to corrupt individuals.

Parliament was also concerned that some properties for which government had compensated the owners were repossessed by same people. The Auditor General also raised a red flag for the reposession.
