MUKONO-UGANDA/NEWSDAY; An 11-year- old boy, Ssemwanga Fred Kelvin has been found hanging dead in what police are investigating as suicide.

Ssemwanga was a pupil at Ssi Primary School Kimbugu village Lugala Parish Ssi-Bukunja Sub county Buikwe District. The deceased was a son of Rev Ssendagire Daniel who is attached to St Mark Church of Uganda.

Semwanga’s body was found on Sunday dangling on a tree behind a house.

Ssemwanga’s woes followed allegations he had accidentally broken a plastic chair at their home, and one of his sisters Tendo confronted him and promised to report him to his parents when they came back.

‘’That it was the third chair he had broken so far. After the confrontation, the deceased went out of the house and disappeared for sometime without returning back into the house. Hours later he was found hanging on the tree already dead,’’ police said in a statement.

Rev Ssendagire and his wife were not home at that time they had attended a burial in Lugala Parish. The body of the deceased has been delivered to Kawolo hospital.

Cases of suicide are increasing among children with police reporting more than this year.
