KAMWENGE.The father of murdered Uganda Christian University student Bewatte Betungura has asked the government to ban multi-party politics in learning institutions.
“Government should ban multi-party politics in learning institutions,” Mr Benson Mucunguzi, a head teacher of Kyabenda Primary School in Kamwenge said on Saturday during the burial of Bewatte, aged 25 and a former law student at the UCU-Kampala campus.
He was buried by hundreds of mourners at Marere in Kamwenge District on Saturday. His mother Jesica Natukunda, preferred tolerance and friendship to divisionism and politicking.
The father asked for compensation from Governement for its failure to protect his son and also demanded an expedited investigations process.
Bewatte died Makerere University Hospital where he was rushed bleeding after he was allegedly stabbed in chaotic guild campaigns on Thursday.
Police on Friday said it had arrstes a Member of Parliament for Kassanda South Frank Kabuye and two others.
