KAMPALA-UGANDA/NEWSDAY: The Speaker of Parliament Anita Among has blocked the replacement of leadership changes in Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee – Local Government.

The leader of opposition, Mathias Mpuuga had shuffled the Committee leadership, replacing Bardege Layibi West Constituiency MP Martin Ojara Mapenduzi with his Kilak South counterpart Gilbert Olanya.

Gilbert Olanyah, pursuant to rule 196 of the Rules of Procedure.’’ Among observed in her communication to the house this afternoon.

She further guided that redesignation will only be by way of a formal Motion for redesignation ,and the motion will be subjected to the approval of the House,with the quorum of one-third of voting Members as prescribed in Rule 24.

The Leader of Opposition in Parliament (LoP), Mr Mathias Mpuuga, on Tuesday announced changes in the leadership of the Shadow Cabinet and PAC-Local Government. Mpuuga also named Kalangala woman MP Helen Nakimuli, as the new Shadow minister for Fisheries and Mr Francis Katongole Katabaazi on the East Africa Community Affairs docket.
