ENTEBE-UGANDA/NEWSDAY: The head of the State House anti-corruption Unit-SH-ACU, Brig. Henry Isoke has underscored the role played by the Internal Security Organisation (ISO) in the fight against corruption.

During a lecture presentation at Entebe, on Wednesday evening, at the Institute of Intelligence and Security Studies to ISO trainees, Brig. Isoke said that the intelligence agency has been a key player in the anti-graft fight.

“Given the sophistication of corruption, ISO has been a useful resource in the corruption fight by generating intelligence on the syndicated corruption in government agencies (and) this is a force multiplier in the fight against Corruption,” Isoke said.

He said the SH-ACU has substantially benefited from several investigations that are intelligence-led by ISO, thus it is crucial for both agencies to keep working together not just with one another but also with other anti-corruption agencies like the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), the Inspector General of Government (IGG), the Auditor General and the Public Procurement and Disposal Agency (PPDA).
