LUWERO-UGANDA/NEWSDAY: Three members of the family of former Minister Al-Haji Abdul Nadduli, have allegedly been abducted in Nakaseke district, 15 days after the burial of his son, Jakana Nadduli.
Newsday broke the story that drones had been dispatched to hunt down those believed culpable in beating NRM’s notorious boy Ivan Kamuntu aka Majembere during the burial of Jakana Nadduli on October 25.
Nadduli blamed his son’s death on government after Jakana was abducted and allegedly tortured during detention. President Museveni ordered for a postmortem of Jakana’s body.
On October 25, Majambere, sitting in a police van after being beaten vowed revenge promising “I will kill four people”. He has never been summoned over the threats.
On Tuesday, Morton Kasobya, a friend to the affected members of Nadduli’s family identifies them as Meddie Nadduli, Musa Nadduli, and Yusuf Nadduli.
According to Kasobya, he received a phone call on Monday night informing him about the trio’s kidnap from Kalege village, Semuto sub-county. He claims that the kidnappers stormed the village past midnight using the infamous drones accompanied by another family member who led them as they knocked on the doors of their victims.
Abdul Nadduli confirmed receiving news about the incident, saying that he was on his way to Kalege to get more information.
Patrick Lule, the acting Savannah region police spokesman also confirmed learning about the alleged kidnap. He told URN that he was still looking for Nakaseke District Police Commander (DPC) to brief him more.
The development comes about two weeks after Al-Haji Abdul Nadduli lost his son, Jakana Sulaiman Nadduli following a similar kidnap shortly after undergoing surgery following a nasty accident. He was laid to rest at his ancestral home in Kaddunda village, Kapeeka sub-county, Nakaseke district.
Jakana, 37, died at his home as his family was planning to rush him to Orient clinic in Wobulenzi town for treatment after experiencing severe pain in the stomach. Nadduli blamed the death of his son on his arrest shortly after undergoing an operation at Nsambya hospital following a nasty accident.
He told journalists that his son complained of torture while in detention despite the fact that he was recuperating from the surgery.
