Delayed works by Chinese cause floods at Entebbe airport

ENTEBE-UGANDA. It has become a common sight for Entebbe International Airport to experience floods whenever it rains.

Passengers and other members of the public are furious over the unending floods which Uganda Civil Aviation Authority has blamed on delayed construction by China Communication Construction Company.

The Chinese company was contracted to expand the airport as well as construct a modern cargo handling centre.

A statement from the aviation authority said, “The multiple ongoing works at the airport, couple with a spate of heavy rains across the country have had an impact on the situation.”

“We sincerely apologise for inconveniences that may have been caused to users of the facilities and the general public.”

“Management would like to assure the public that all efforts are in place to address the issues as we expedite the projects that are aimed at improving on the customer experience at the airport,” the statement said.
