MUKONO-UGANDA/NEWSDAY: Three suspects in the vandalism of high voltage power lines in Nama Sub County, Mukono District have been arrested, police said on Friday.
The High Power Voltage lines were destroyed days ago leading to a brief nation shutdown of power.
Kampala Metropolitan Area Police spokesperson, Patrick Onyango said in a statement the “key suspect” was arrested on Thursday with the help of Police dogs.
“We are withholding his names but he is providing useful information,” Onyango said.
Two other suspects were arrested on Friday morning at around 0430 hours from Nakapinyi North Village, Kasenge Parish, Nama Sub County in Mukono District.
Police identified the suspects as Ayikobuwa Fred, 22 years old a casual worker at Tian Tang Aluminium factory, Mbalala and Apima James 19 years, casual worker at Nama Mehta sugarcane plantation.
“The man hunt for other suspects are still ongoing,” Onyango warned.
