KAMPALA-UGANDA/NEWSDAY: The bodyguard of National Unity Platform (NUP) leader Bobi Wine, alongside three others, were Friday arraigned in Mengo magistrates court and charged with the offense of damaging a drone of their kidnappers.
Jamushid Kavuma, Godfrey Kirumira, Mureme Steven and Ahumuza Patrick were charged with damaging a drone UBG 160M, owned by CPL Kambale Nelson on Friday.
They were picked on November 5 by a man in military attire and three other plain-clothed armed men from Gladiator Paradise in Rubaga division. They were tortured during the illegal arrest.
In a tweet, after the news of charges against his body guard, Bobi Wine wondered how his people committed the offense before they were arrested.
“The impunity, abuse of authority and capture of our criminal justice system (is awful)”.Wine tweeted.
Over 25 NUP supporters have been arrested over the past month. President Museveni linked them to fun robbing and police attacks.
