Hundreds of mourners on Tuesday afternoon gathered in Budaka district to see off Hassan Wasswa Galiwango, the former envoy to Kenya.
Galiwango who was also the former director of finance at the National Resistance Movement secretariat, died on Monday aged 67 due to multiple organ failure.
Before his burial, speakers heaped praises on the man who also owns one of the biggest schools in Bugisu – Mbale Progressive School.
Jessica Alupo, the Vice president who represented President Yoweri Museveni hailed Galiwango as a trusted party cadre.
“Hope all Ugandan can take learning lessons from Galiwango to.make this nation Uganda better place to be. He loved work, unity and peace” Alupo said on behalf of the President.
