Information streaming in from the Namanve-based OPM stores indicate that emissaries sent by disaster state minister Esther Anyakun to deliver iron sheets that she illegally acquired have been bounced.
Reports indicate that the mean-looking storekeepers refused to receive the 300 ill-fated sheets claiming there was no police officer on site and that officials from the standards bureau were also absent to ascertain the quality of the returned sheets.
Anyakun is one of the top officials implicated in illegally obtaining iron sheets from OPM which were meant for poor people in Karamoja and reformed cattle rustlers.
Shockingly, Anyakun hails from Karamoja region.
Reports also indicate that Ethics and Integrity Minister Rose Lilly Akello had her returned sheets rejected on grounds that she did not send official handlers to make a statement on her behalf.
Akello was returning 300 out of the 800 sheets that she acquired illegally following the Presidential directive to return unused sheets and compensate those already used.
So far three ministers have been charged with diverting government property and are either out on bail or committed to High Court.
More ministers are expected to be arrested over the weekend and arraigned in court next week.
