KAMPALA-UGANDA/NEWSDAY: Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga has weighed in on the Judiciary’s decision to pursue its driver who complained about a low pay.

Mr. Stanley Kisambira who complained about a low pay was remanded until June 2, 2023 by Buganda Road Court after being charged under section 26A(1)(C) of the computer misuse (Amended) Act, 2022.

Kisambira had last week released a voice note saying he only earns Shs 230.000, not enough to take care of his demands.

Judiciary Permanent secretary, Pius Bigirimana said Kisambira was a liar.

On Monday Kisambira was charged and remanded to Luzira Prison.

But in a tweet on Tuesday Mr. Mayiga wondered whether the words of Kisambira merited a prosecution or even debate.

“He threatened ramming the judge’s car into an approaching vehicle to cause death to vehicle occupants in protest of alleged low pay. False or true about the pay, is that a reason justifying prison…or even public debate?“, Mayiga tweeted.

One tweeter user commenting under Mayiga’s tweet commended the Katikkiro.

“Today you spoke with your brains.”
