KAMPALA-UGANDA/NEWSDAY: Frank Gashumba is “stupid and bullsh***t”, the Coordinator of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC)of the National Resistance Movement, Hadijja Uzeiyi Namyalo has said.
“All the intellectual rights regarding all the work we do here in the course of our duty belong to the ONC, not any of us. Whoever has claims of ownership, that’s trash, bullshi**t, stupidity- someone having selfish interests,” Namyalo said during a press conference on Wednesday at Kyambogo.
Gashumba shot back immediately accusing Namyaalo of greed and corruption whose office is managed on asking for kickbacks from suppliers.
Gashumba slapped a 14 day ultimatum to Namyalo to reflect on her conduct and behave religiously like a Muslim she is, else “I will go below the belt and expose you.”
“Namyalo is scandalous, corrupt, dishonest and swingy. She is unstable, very unreliable,” Gashumba said in an interview with Newsday on Wednesday evening.
He said; “When I first met her in October 2022, I laid for her a plan on how to popularize her office. In return, we agreed mutually I would carry out all the branding work. She made a U-turn in March this year giving away my work to other people contrary to agreement.”
He vowed “I will take her on. And now that I have squeezed her into a tight corner, she has deployed dogs to bite me via social media. I won’t go for these Social media users. I will go for the owner of the Dogs- Namyalo. No relenting until I get a fair share of my intellectual rights.”
Gashumba, the MK movement Buganda region Vice Chairperson already secured two certificates of copy rights from the Uganda Registrations Bureau (URSB)- “Omalako Jjaja, Tova ku Main” and a patent for Museveni’s art piece out of a photo he was pictured in Karamoja while walking and that is being used on T-Shirts used by the ONC.
Gashumba vowed to beat arrogance out “this young woman who values no counsel because of permittivity”.
Gashumba said that before their war escalated he contacted various NRM big wigs including the Vice Chairperson Haji Moses Kigongo and NRM’s Western Region Vice Chairperson, Mike Mukula to arbitrate them.
“They all reached out to Namyalo but snubbed everyone. She refused to come to the meetings. Every time she invokes the President’s name. She feels so high and untouchable. I force this impunity out of her,” Gasumba said.
He explained his relationship with Namyalo was commercial and that he has never been an employee of ONC or the NRM.
He said that he cannot afford to lose about Shs.800m that he injected in a machine that prints T-Shirts and the clothes he had bought in order to make easy supplies.
Gashumba revealed that during Easter season, Shs. 400 million was released to buy T-Shirts but Namyalo only offered him Shs.30 million and spent the rest of the money to other contractors contrary to a mutual agreement between him and ONC.
In her press conference Namyalo said that all suppliers are paid upfront and the “work I do is for the entire party not me as an individual.”
“No one owns any rights. Those people are playing politics and are simply self-seekers. They won’t force us into submission,” Namyalo said.
Gashumba said that he will not let Namyalo enjoy his copyright and branding skills. He said he is successful at branding giving examples of his own daughter Sheila, Christine Nabukeera, Ssisimuka Uganda and the Omalako Jjaja. On the launch of the Kyambogo ofice, Namyalo saluted Gashumba for a successful event.
