KAMPALA: Hardly a day after two factions at the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) went bare knuckled, the party’s National Council chairman, Wasswa Birigwa is set to address the press shortly.
“Members of the Press, the Chairman FDC has a press conference today at 11am at the @FDCOfficial1 party Headquarters,” Doreen Nyanjura, the Kampala Deputy Lord Mayor, said.
“He will be clarifying why as the Chairman he suspended structure elections, a directive that has been ignored by the outgoing party President and Secretary General. We have learnt of attempts to sabotage the press conference by the same group that now worships gold but not God,” she added.
Development comes following two pressers, one by party president Patrick Amuriat and Secretary General Nandala Mafabi, and another by former president Kiiza Besigye and Lord mayor Erias Lukwago among others.
The two camps accuse each other of sharing money from President Yoweri Museveni, an accusation promoted by MP Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda.
Below is the letter written by Birigwa which he claims was trashed by Mafabi and Amuriat.
