In Kanungu
The territorial police in Kanungu are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a 60 years old Speria Mbabazi a resident of Kasiizi village Muramba parish Rutenga sub county Kanungu district.
It’s alleged that on the 26/05/2024 at around 19:00hrs, she left Kakyere trading center, and on her way about 150 meters to her home, was ambushed and strangled to death using a piece of cloth.
She was suspected to have had money since she had sold part of her land at 2 million UGX and had been seen with her biological son Abel Tusasibwe 34yrs old at the trading center buying clothes and other things.
The police were notified and visited the scene with the police sniffer dog, managed to track two suspects who were arrested and are in custody to help in investigations.
Postmortem was done and body handed over to relatives for a decent burial. ASP ELLY MAATE, the Police Spokesperson in Kigezi Area said Inquiries are underway.
