Amb. Al Haj. Prof. Badru Kateregga, the Chief Scout of Uganda and National Chairman of Uganda Muslim Scouts (NUUM), led a delegation of six high-profile scouts to the 43rd World Scout Conference in Cairo, Egypt. The delegation included Haj Sulaiman Musana Kawanguzi, Safe from Harm Coordinator; Asuman Mugoya, Deputy Chief Commissioner; Ms. Namukose Jovia, Youth Representative; and Mr. Ampumuza Peter, Youth Advisor in charge of the African region.
The conference, which has attracted 2,000 scouts from 176 countries, was officially opened by His Excellency Abdul Fattah Al-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, at the Al Kuba Presidential Palace.
Prior to the World Scout Conference, Prof. Kateregga and his team attended the 15th Conference of the Islamic Union of Muslim Scouts on August 15th, 2024. This event was held at the Intercontinental Hotel City Stars in Cairo. Among the invited guests was H.E. Lt. Gen. Charles Angina, Ugandan Ambassador to Egypt.
The World Scout Conference is scheduled to conclude on August 23rd, 2024.
