THE rot engulfing KCCA may soon be fully exposed following Kiteezi landfill catastrophe which has sparked multiple investigations.
President Yoweri Museveni recently instructed his blue eyed officer, Brig Gen Henry Isoke who heads the nonsense State House Anti Corruption Unit (SHACU) to leave no stone unturned about any possible rot at KCCA.
SHACU intervention come at a time when the office of the IGG has launched investigations into KCCA to root out any possible cause of Kiteezi incident and other financial and managerial related irregularities at the Capital Authority.
Early this week big brains at KCCA including the executive Director, Dorothy Kisaka , her deputy Eng David Luyimbazi and many others were summoned to record statements with the IGG’s office.
This has sparked panic at City Hall following reports that the lower and medium staff have been giving details of management and financial related issues to the investigation .
Mr Luyimbazi told Media that they are facing broader investigations beyond Kiteezi incident.
Prior to Kiteezi, the Lord Mayor Hajj Erias Lukwago has been accusing technocrats and other staff at KCCA for failing in their duties and financial irresponsibility saying atleast they forewarned them on Kiteezi.
KCCA has been marred in many financial issues some of which led to fierce demonstrations from casual workers like sweepers lately.
Meanwhile a source from SHACU told this Media that their investigations are basically broad beyond Kiteezi incident.
” We are not investigating Kiteezi incident but other things with in KCCA..” said a credible contact from State House Anti Corruption Unit on Tuesday.
The SHACU is basically known for investigations relating to corruption like their name suggests and it has recovered billions since inception let alone arraigning many public servants before courts of law around the country.
Kiteezi landfill collapsed on three villages on August 10,2024 killing over 30 people , injuring many and displacing others.
