A source at the IGG’s office told this Media that alot of decay has been discovered and strong recommendations like dismissal , imprisonment and attachment of ill gotten wealth at the tax payers expense and peril are expected.

These investigations and report which became necessary following Kiteezi landfill catastrophe is said to be broad tackling all major weaknesses at City Hall.

Another credible source at City Hall told our writer yesterday that there is alot of panic in various KCCA departments especially those which have not worked to expectations and others marred by corruption tendencies.

Recently big brains at KCCA including the executive Director, Dorothy Kisaka , her deputy Eng David Luyimbazi and many others were summoned to record statements with the IGG’s office.

Reports indicate that the lower and medium staff were quizzed first and gave details of management and financial related issues to the investigators .

Mr Luyimbazi told Media that they are facing broader investigations beyond Kiteezi incident.

Prior to Kiteezi, the Lord Mayor Hajj Erias Lukwago has been accusing technocrats and other staff at KCCA for failing in their duties and financial irresponsibility saying atleast they forewarned them on Kiteezi.

Kiteezi landfill collapsed on three villages on August 10,2024 killing over 30 people , injuring many and displacing others.

As the IGG gets through with KCCA investigations, the president’s office is also carrying out other investigations with in KCCA.

President Museveni instructed his blue eyed officer, Brig Gen Henry Isoke who heads the State House Anti Corruption Unit (SHACU) to leave no stone unturned about any possible rot at KCCA.

KCCA has been locked in many financial issues some of which led to fierce demonstrations from casual workers like sweepers lately.

A source from SHACU told this Media that their investigations are basically broad.

” We are not investigating Kiteezi incident but other things with in KCCA..” said an official from State House Anti Corruption Unit last week.

The SHACU is basically known for investigations relating to corruption like their name suggests and it has recovered billions since inception let alone arraigning many public servants before courts of law around the country.
