He says he is sworn to getting compasation for the losses he suffered, permanent injuries he suffered and the medical bills he goes through.
For starters, the civil suit follows the high court criminal division Judgement where justice Isaac Muwata’s convicted four guards of Pastor Ssenyonga, to Luzira prison to serve different sentences after finding them guilty of aggravated robbery .
The four while on duty under the supervision of pastor Ssenyonga’s chief body guard as of then , Israel Wasswa found time and robbed a church goer Sam Mukula of his mobile phone valued at 50,000 and 500,000 shillings cash and harming him in the process.
One of the guards Ali Ojulango was convicted to six years whereas Godfrey Mwanda, also known as Kefa and Israel Wasswa, serve five and two years respectively.
Wasswa has since been released after completing his sentence which technically shortened after prison deducted prison remand period from his two year sentence.
The fourth convict, a chapati maker Ivan Wanyama, was handed the highest sentence of ten years in jail since he was the most violent person in the crime when they robbed Mukula.
The court heard that the incident took place on June 8th 2018 at Christian Life Church in Makerere Kavule when the convicts who were armed with blunt objects robbed Mukula of the said property before causing him permanent injuries on his stomach and arm, which were deemed grievous harm.
Mukula was one of the church members who always congregated at Christian Life church and by the time of the robbery, he had gone for evening prayers.
