According to a statement from UCAA ,the For saloon cars and Station Wagons, the first-hour rate will increase from Shs 2,000 to Shs 5,000.

For vehicles exceeding 24 hours, the charge per extra hour will rise from Shs 1,000 to Shs 30,000.

For Vans, Minibuses, and Super Customs, the initial hourly rate will double from Shs 4,000 to Shs 8,000. Each extra hour over 24 hours will be charged Shs 50,000.

For Lorries, Trailers, Trucks, and Buses, the first-hour rate will increase from Shs 5,000 to Shs 10,000, with additional hours over 24 charged at Shs 50,000.

For non-residents: Current rates of Shs 150,000 will increase to Shs 200,000 for up to 24 hours, with charges soaring to Shs 500,000 for any period over 24 hours.

Users categorised under different monthly rates will see varying increases, with the highest jump from Shs 150,000 to Shs 240,000 for long-term users.

“The rate for each extra hour will remain Shs 1,000 across all vehicle categories,” the UCAA stated in a statement.

For long-term parking, the first day will cost Shs 30,000, with subsequent days priced at Shs 10,000 each.

However, the UCAA has implemented a deterrent fee of Shs 200,000 for each day beyond a 30-day parking period.

“The ideally recommended period to park in the long-term car park is not more than 30 days,” the authority advised.

The UCAA has also provided detailed information about the new rates, including monthly options for frequent users, which can be accessed via their website and social media platforms.

“A flier with detailed rates for all categories is available on the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority website and on all social media handles,” they added.
