Gen Isoke, Minister Balaam Rally Youth For Development

THE Head of State House Anti Corruption unit,
Brig Gen Henry Isoke and the youth state Minister, Balaam Barugahara have rallied the Youth to form development initiatives and also desist from corruption.

Brig Isoke and minister Barugahara were yesterday Wednesday 30/2024 addressing the NRM Youth Cadre Association at the launch of their SACCO at the Makerere University Auditorium.

The Minister congratulated the youth cadres on this significant achievement and encouraged young people to think creatively and identify opportunities for growth within the SACCO urging them to engage in government programs such as the PDM and Emyooga.

He reminded the youth to start small and work steadily towards larger goals, highlighting that building wealth is a journey that requires patience and perseverance.

Brig. Gen. Isoke on his part expressed gratitude to Mr Ahumuza Penkson Chairman of the Association and his executive committee for mobilizing and rallying the youth behind such initiatives.

He emphasized the importance of synergy and the need for transparency and accountability, when handling SACCO affairs.

He pledged the unit’s collaboration with the youth association and wished the SACCO success in its mission.

Meanwhile Canon Benson Turamye the Executive Director of PPDA Uganda
, highlighted the government’s support for youth, noting that the 2021 amendment to the PPDA Act requires all government entities to allocate 15% of their procurement budgets to youth initiatives.

The event was also attended by Prof.Peter Baguma, Chairman NRM Makerere University, Prof. Edward Bantu of Kabale University, SSP Donald Mutatina-KMP and Nelson Mutatina of Uganda Microfinance Regulatory Authority.
