They were identified as Tapenesi Kazibira and her daughter, Manjeri Nabirye and died on the spot after encountering a live wire while performing household chores.

It was alleged that Kazibira was hanging clothes on a wire line outside their home when she came into contact with live electricity.

Nabirye, attempting to save her mother, also suffered fatal electrocution.

Michael Kasadha, the Busoga North Police spokesperson, said the bodies had been taken to Kamuli General Hospital Mortuary for post-mortem examinations.

He urged residents to report any exposed live wires or damaged electrical infrastructure to authorities without delay.

Investigations are ongoing to determine how live wires came into contact with the area where the incident occurred.
