Masaka Headteacher Charged For Causing Financial Loss

MASAKA school Headteacher who inflated the number of pupils in the school is regretting after the law catching up with him.
This follows his arrest by the State House Anti corruption unit working together with Uganda police and the DPP’s office days ago.
Mr Welishe Robert, the Head Teacher, Butale Church of Uganda Primary School was yesterday arraigned before the Masaka Chief Magistrate Court on charges of providing false information.
He denied the charges and court sent him on remand until 23/12/2024.
It was alleged in court that between February and May 2024, the accused, being a Head teacher of Butale C.O.U Primary School submitted wrong information of the pupil enrollment records to the Masaka City Education Officer.
Court heard that, he informed the Masaka City Education Officer that, 423 UPE Students had been enrolled which was not true, an act he knew would cause financial loss to govt.
