While the medical personnel absconded after going for a study leave, she continued drawing salary hence committing two offenses.
The State House Anti corruption unit working with Uganda police and the DPP’s office Friday 21, February 2025 arraigned Adokorach Gloria, a medical radiographer at Yumbe Referral Hospital before the Koboko Chief Magistrates Court on charges of obtaining money by false pretence and neglect of duty.
The accused was employed as a midwife in 2013 by Koboko General Hospital and went on study leave until 2018.
Court heard that upon her return, she did not report back to duty but continued to receive salary from Koboko Local government for a role she abandoned in 2018, causing government a financial loss of over UGX40Million in salaries.
The accused denied both charges
and was remanded until 13/03/2025.
While some people are gradually abandoning the corruption vice because of the unit’s effectiveness and other anti graft agencies, others seem to be learning nothing but the unit remains steady fast and it will only be a matter of time to those misbehaving around.
