The State House Anti corruption unit working together with Uganda police and the DPP’s office arraigned Mr Asangai David, a Community Development Officer before the Chief Magistates Court Tororo, on charges of Theft and Conspiracy to Commit a Felony.
Court heard that in 2023, the accused and others still at large conspired and stole millions of Shillings meant for the eldery under the SAGE program within different sub counties in Tororo and Busia districts.
Prosecution further told the Thursday court that , the accused are also being investigated for the theft of funds that were meant for the Peace, Recovery and Development Plan project in 2022 in Tororo district.
The accused denied the charges and he was remanded till 19/ 03/ 2025.
