The Lira Chief Magistrates Court has convicted and sentenced Sarah Atim, to one year, 11 months and three weeks in Prison on charges related to the mismanagement of PDM Funds in Lira District.
The accused being a chairperson of Ipito Aweo PDM SACCO in Lira, obtained millions of shillings from thousands of PDM beneficiaries in Lira district inorder for them to access their funds.
She was arrested by State House Anti corruption unit working together with the Uganda police and the office of the DPP after getting information that she had been obtaining money from the PDM Cash beneficiaries.
The unit headed by Brig Gen Henry Isoke has been carrying out arrests on PDM sacco managers who steal, abuse or something exploit the process as directed by the president of Uganda.
