Birungi who is a student at Elite High school also urged parents to spare time and ensure their children are safe.

” The danger of drugs can be a danger to our nation. Drugs are sometimes started in school bad groupings and I urge our parents to spare time and talk to us their children. Bridging the gap between the parent and the child can make a difference” said Birungi.

She was recently speaking to her fellow students in the wake of rampant drug abuse among Ugandan youth .

This comes at a time when many youth are losing life after living recklessly and it’s alleged that it’s because of drugs.

Just last week a young university girl died in a city bar at Kololo and it’s suspected she was high on drugs.

However Birungi advised fellow students and youth to live positively and a respectable life style if they want to succeed in academics and life.

She thanked parents, hers inclusive and teachers who make it a point to well advise their children on morals along side academics.
