Mr David Musisi Karyankolo, a reporter with Bukedde TV based in Mukono
sustained a head injury after being struck by a teargas canister allegedly fired by police officers during a protest.

Musisi was covering a protest over a power blackout in Ngandu, Mukono Central Division, on Friday, April 4 when a canister severely injured him.

He is being treated at Case Hospital in the Intensive Care Unit in critical condition.

The development has angered journalists and have castigated the vice individually and through the various associations UJA and Journalist Human Rights Network among others.

It’s barely three weeks when police and Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) personnel allegedly assaulted journalists covering the Kawempe North parliamentary by-election.
