The State House Anti Corruption Unit(SH_ ACU) determined to deal with land grabbing as ordered by the president will remain restless until the vice which is a national cancer is overcome.
The famous Mukono land dealers who sometimes border on illegal eviction of land owners in the area were Wednesday afternoon charged following their arrest.
The SH_ ACU working with Uganda police and the office of the DPP, Mr Kityo Seruma Green Way Edward and Mr Kazibwe Yusufu before the Grade 1 Magistrates Court in Nakifuma on charges of forcible entry and conspiracy to commit an offence.
Court heard that the accused and others still at large, between 2020 and 2023, violently entered the kibanja (land) belonging to Mr Kamundu Martin in Nakasajja Village, Kyampisi sub-county, Mukono district and destroyed property, trees and crops with the intent of taking possession of it.
It was alleged that they went ahead and conspired with one of the administrators of the land, subdivided into plots and sold it to different persons.
They denied the said charges and were remanded until April 28, 2025.
