And for these actions, the Anti corruption unit agencies Wednesday
afternoon arrested Mr Stephen Wasike the Busia LC5 boss before the S Chief Magistrates Court, Busia and Charged him with Wrongful Confinement and Threatening Violence.

He denied the charges and was remanded until 16/06/2025.

It’s alleged that on the 9th day of May, Chairperson, Wasike Stephen Mugeni at Busia district head quarters, with impunity, wrongfully confined and threatened to assault the Chief Administrative Officer, Mr Lubuuka David, while forcefully and violently demanding a government vehicle which constituted unprofessional conduct.

This comes to find Mr Wasike already facing alleged charges of stealing parts of a motor vehicle, including, an engine and a Gear box from motor vehicle registration number UAK 827Z Toyota Hilux double Cabin, property of Busia District Local Government.

Before the arrest,several witnesses at the district who observed the fracas were interviewed and aided the investigation, leading to the charges against Mugeni.
