The anti graft agencies have arrested one more person who was later charged for soliciting a bribe.

Mr Owani Kenneth Allan was arraigned before the Anti-corruption Court on charges of corruption and conspiracy to defraud.

Owani joins former Lira District land board Chairperson, Chankoma Paul and Councillor Ojuka Anthony who were earlier charged for soliciting a bribe of UGX70M and had received UGX 5M as part from Eryao Francis, who had bought land in Lira.

Court heard that the accused claimed that the title of the said land had been issued fraudulently to the former owners, and it was supposed to be cancelled.

They claimed that they were able to influence the decision of the land board not to cancel his title.

Like his remanded co accused, he denied the charges and was
remanded until 2nd June 2025.
