A fellow Media person, an upcoming politicians, a sportsman and a business personality, Cedric was down to earth and outgoing.

I am among the few people who last chatted him up and got closer to him as he joined his fellow leadership in PLU around Kololo.

Cedric Babu along with my good friend Frank Gashumba Maalingumu and others were in Kololo to announce and rally PLU membership in coming up in huge numbers to support the annual MK marathon.

The MK marathon is the event which louds the birthday of PLU patron Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

This year’s marathon was flagged off and conducted around Kololo so Cedric Ndilima Babu in his capacity as Kampala national vice chairperson was at center stage.

Finding us in Kololo Chinese hotel having some lunch, Cedric Ndilima teased Frank Gashumba who was in the middle of his favorate dish if he could join in the same dish straight away and Frank as usual gave a lee way.
But Cedric now changed and said he was a bit full up but atleast Frank needed to order him tea. That
It has been a bit of time when they promised each other a cup of coffee together.

Meanwhile he was tapping the three of us at the lunch table inquiring to know how we were finding life generally.
As we chatted over he was now asking Frank how they were supposed to make the years marathon event a very memorable one.

A few minutes later we were now joining the venue for the press conference in the hotel courtyard and the nation was guided on the MK marathon was to be done, no wonder was a success again.

But now this was the last time Cedric Ndilima Babu would be seen around organizing for PLU the movement which seemed too much thick in his blood.

Mourning his fellow leader, brother and friend, Mr Frank Gashumba was over heard recounting the same physical encounter with Cedric Ndilima at Kololo during the PLU press conference.

And adding that, atleast he had a chance to speak to Cedric Ndilima Babu as he lay on his death bed In Nairobi.

He had however hoped to get well soon according to Mr Gashumba and continue with their movement but God had other plans.

Speaking to the Media, Gashumba described Cedric Ndilima Babu as a down to earth young progressive man who had no trouble with no body and loved team worker.

” You know Cedric was appointed national vice chairperson for Kampala to save me because I was overloaded as national vice chairperson central region and when I called him to congratulate him and give him the good news he drove straight to my office to seek advice and map put how we could perform better. That’s Cedric, very straight man, may God give him eternal rest” said Frank Gashumba.

He said his death is another blow to PLU but advised everyone to work hard, be straight and kind because we are all dying someday.

” Let’s be good people and to those who behave as if they are immortal I pity. Everyone of us will go” Cedric Ndilima is only gone early but mother earth never get filled up” he said.

Meanwhile Mr Gashumba has called upon PLU membership to turn up.in bigger numbers and accord Cedric Ndilima Babu a decent and befitting burial.

According to Gashumba PLU s presence must be pronounced with an army of members riding on motorcycles and driving while others may be good to march.

Cedric Ndilima’s send off will start with a mass at Lubaga cathedral on Friday according to his daddy Hon Capt Francis Babu and burial will be on Saturday at their ancestral home in Kamengo along Kampala _ Masaka road.

Cedric Ndilima died in Nairobi hospital over the weekend where he was airlifted from Kigali, Rwanda after collapsing.

The medics in Nairobi had recommended a heart transplant in UK but Cedric Ndilima passed on as the family and friends where fundraising for the operation which required more than 1.5 billion shillings.
