A renown city businessman based in Naguru, Kampala, Fred Kirenga was Friday arraigned before the Anti-Corruption Court on charges of fraudulently procuring a Certificate of Title.
He denied the charges and was remanded until July 8, 2025.
Kirenga joins several others accused, including Acting Commissioner of Surveys and Mapping Kakooza Jasper, Deputy Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Gomba District, Mugenyi Vicent, and 9 others who were earlier charged with the roles they played in the fraudulent creation of titles on land belonging to the Madhvani Group Ltd, specifically on FRV 60 folio 4, in Gomba District.
It’s alleged that on June 15, 2020, in Gomba District, Kirenga Fred and his co-accused fraudulently obtained the registration of a freehold Certificate of Title for Block 311, Plot 36 and 37 in his name and others, despite knowing that another title for the same land already existed.
