Two individuals were remanded to prison following their arraignment before the Chief Magistrate’s Court in Entebbe on charges of conspiracy to defraud, forcible entry, and unlawful occupation of private land.
Antonina Bwayo Nakibuuka and Nkali Kirumira Esau, appeared in court on Friday evening after a joint operation led by the State House Anti-Corruption Unit, in coordination with the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).
Court was briefed that in June 2025, at Nalugala–Kitala in Wakiso District, Nakibuuka fraudulently sold a piece of land to Nkali Esau without possessing legal authority or letters of administration for the estate.
The land in question legally belongs to the estate of the late George William Kyobe.
Despite knowing the land was not hers to sell, Nakibuuka allegedly facilitated the transaction, enabling Esau to forcefully and unlawfully occupy the land. His occupation was reportedly done with full awareness that the property was part of a deceased person’s estate.
They were remanded to prison until August 23, 2025.
